Dry Infrared Sauna Therapy

We live in a world filled with fat soluble toxins such as gasoline, solvents, pesticides, plasticizers, and chemical dioxins, and it is vital that we try to rid our bodies of these toxins because they are a source of disease. Sauna Therapy is an established treatment for chemical poisoning, so Dr. Gibson added a dry, far infrared sauna to help her patients detox their systems. People have enjoyed saunas for thousands of years, from the elaborate bath/sauna systems of the Romans to the simple but effective sweat lodges of the Indians. These cultures believed that sweating could improve health.

Benefits of Infrared Sauna

  • Relieve pain and stiffness from Arthritis, Bursitis, Rheumatism, and Fibromyalgia
  • Removes toxins from the body
  • Improves the immune system
  • Strengthens the cardiovascular system
  • Improves skin tone
  • Helps clear cellulite
  • Burns calories and helps control weight

Why use a Dry Far Infrared Sauna over a steam sauna
Both saunas and steam rooms can help you relax and unwind, but the dry type of sauna is better than the conventional sauna because it helps the body excrete more toxic metals that are absorbed from our environment; e.g. mercury, lead, nickel, sodium, sulfuric acid, cholesterol, and fat soluble toxins. A dry, far infrared sauna stimulates the body to release these fat soluble toxins, heavy metals and other toxic chemicals more effectively than any other form of heat therapy or exercise.

What does the Dry Sauna feel like?
A dry sauna is very comfortable to sit in and has very low humidity (20%), so it doesn't feel sticky like the humidity outside on a Summer day. During a session, your body will cool itself down as the temperature increases by shunting blood away from your internal organs to the extremities and skin, which causes you to sweat.

Use of a dry sauna for weight loss
Much of a person's stubborn weight problem is due to the inflammation and a buildup of toxins in the body. You can burn 400-600 calories in one 30 minute sauna session. In a 2 week study of 25 obese adults, it was found that their body fat and weight were decreased after using a sauna daily for 2 weeks - some losing as much as 30 pounds in 10 weeks. Dry far infrared sauna therapy raises your heart rate and cardiac output much as a brisk walk does, wich raises your metabolic rate. It lowers blood sugar, decreses joint and muscle pain, and reduces stress - all of which help the body in the weight loss process.

Gibson Chiropractic offers a weight loss detoxification program that can be tailored to your needs.
