Colon Hydrotherapy Center
-
Colon Hydrotherapy Center of Northwest Arkansas opened in January 2003. Kim Lowrey, our Colon Hydrotherapist, has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Arkansas. She received her training as a Colon Hydrotherapist at the Michigan Colon Hydrotherapy Institute, and has her Level III Advanced Certification from the International Association for Colon HydroTheray (I-ACT).
Colon Hydrotherapy refers to colon irrigations, colonics, colon therapy, or high enemas. Colon Hydrotherapy is the gentle infusion of filtered, temperature-controlled water into the colon, which fills the colon allowing impacted toxins and waste to be removed. When waste material accumulates over a long period of time, it breaks down and becomes toxic. This causes constipation and sluggish bowel movements, which affect all other systems of the body.

How does a Colonic work? A colonic cleanses the colon by removing toxic material. It also improves assimilation of nutrients because colonics remove the buildup of wastes along the colon wall that impair absorption. The gentle filling and emptying of the colon improves the peristaltic action (muscular contraction) by which the colon naturally moves material. Your colon muscles become stronger as opposed to the weakening effect that laxatives have on your colon. Colonics speed up the transit time of fecal material once the colon muscles have been toned and strengthened.
How does Colon Hydrotherapy help the colon? Colon Hydrotherapy can help to reshape your colon. When problem conditions exist in the colon, they can alter the shape and structure of the colon, which can lead to more health problems. The gentle action of the water coupled with massage techniques employed by the therapist can help eliminate bulging pockets of waste and narrowed spastic constrictions, allowing the colon to resume its natural shape.
How can Colon Hydrotherapy help other organs? Colonics stimulate reflex points. Every system and organ of the body is connected to the colon by reflex points. A colonic irrigation stimulates these points, thereby affecting the corresponding body parts, organs, tissues and glands in a beneficial way. Colon Hydrotherpy also hydrates the body. Our bodies are made up of 60-70 % water and with the use of pure water in the colonic session our bodies absorb much needed clean and pure water to hydrate the cells of the body, as well as dilute the existing toxins. Colon Hydrotherpay also helps nutrient absorption and provides a healthier environment in which your beneficial bacteria can grow.
If you are experiencing constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, gas, bloating, indigestion, yeast infections, skin problems, frequent colds or flu, fatigue, headaches, allergies, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia, you would greatly benefit from a series of colonics.
